Thomas Love

Thomas Love works on modern and contemporary art with a focus on gender studies, postcolonial studies, critical race theory, and film theory. His dissertation examines exoticism among queer subcultures in post-1960s West Germany, arguing that queer identity was constructed around representations of difference rooted in colonial power dynamics. His work has been supported by the Fulbright Program, DAAD, and SSRC, among others. He has been a fellow in the Paris Program in Critical Theory and the Whitney Independent Studies Program.
